ACIGAMI LAKE — Once your bus picks you up from your charter flight, you will drive across the valley from the River Pipo, a scenic ambiance that invites you to marvel at the lush nature. Your route takes you around this lake, a beautiful landscape of mountains surrounding a still lake. Here, your tour guide will enlighten you with the history of the Yámana people who originally inhabited the region.

NEW ALAKUSH VISITOR CENTER & LUNCH — Making a stop at the visitor center, immerse yourself in the natural history on display in the curated exhibits. Here, you will also enjoy a three-course lunch at the Alakush Visitor Center while gazing upon the stunning images around you of verdant hills, snow-capped peaks and a glassy lake. Or you may dine at Chez Manu restaurant. Take your time to reenergize and stretch your legs as you look upon the natural marvels around you.

LAPATAIA BAY — Your tour continues with a drive to this enchanting bay, where a leisurely walk along a boardwalk takes you up close to the greenery and over the soothing sounds of creeks. Your guide will take you to an ideal point for photo opportunities, where you can bask for a few minutes in the wonders of the world around you.

ENSENADA BAY — This is the final stop on your panoramic tour of Tierra del Fuego. Here you can find a shop of local handicrafts and a post box at the End of the World. Shop for mementos to take home and send postcards to your friends and family back home from one of the farthest points of South America before you embark on your Antarctic adventure.

SOUTH GEORGIA — Springtime in South Georgia brings forth incredible wildlife as the fauna come out of hibernation, from elephant and fur seals entering mating season to Gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguins waddling among the rocky terrain. But it's the regal king penguins, standing tall amid fields of tussock grass and rugged cliffs, that are the island's stars. The sight of these majestic creatures in a colony with thousands stretching as far as the eye can see invites you and your fellow explorers to find a moment of stillness as you connect more deeply with the world around you. A contrasting landscape of sweeping fjords and soaring mountains creates an awe-inspiring vista that beckons for exploration. Alongside your expert expedition team, you will gain greater insight and appreciation for the wondrous marvels South Georgia has to offer.

SOUTH SANDWICH ISLANDS — Rich in nutrients for marine life, the waters surrounding the South Sandwich Islands bring an incredible array of wildlife, from chinstrap penguins to humpback whales. Amid the volcanic landscapes, macaroni and Gentoo penguins hop along their trails, a sight that inspires you to take a moment for whimsy. Home to penguins in the millions, you will find wildlife adventures abound as you explore these remote reaches of the Earth. Gliding through the waters, fin whales may breach the surface to greet you and roll over for a show not soon to be forgotten. Far removed from the bustle of everyday life, you and your fellow explorers will become immersed in the pristine majesty of nature guided by an expert expedition team. As the only sounds of whistling wind, the rush of the sea and bird calls are all that surround you, it's easy to fall in love with your world.

Join us in partnership with ORCA as a Citizen Scientist aboard our 2023/2024 Antarctica expeditions on World Navigator®. ORCA is a whale and dolphin conservation charity that works around the world with the mission of protecting the ocean through this special and exciting program.

Together with your fellow explorers and guided by an ORCA Ocean Conservationist, engage in hands-on workshops to gather scientific data that contribute to conservation and marine life protection efforts. Throughout your Antarctic journey, you will become a Citizen Scientist with the following program:

• Using ORCA’s OceanWatchers app, record environmental and sightings information to help discover how these wondrous creatures behave and move through the oceans.
• Learn how to take photos of whales and dolphins and use those pictures to identify individual cetaceans.
• Enjoy a range of enriching lectures, workshops and interactive classes hosted by your knowledgeable Ocean Conservationist, giving you a greater understanding of the importance of ocean conservation.

As your team of explorers help with ORCA’s work and research, you’re invited to deepen your connection with incredible marine animals, enhancing your appreciation for the beauty of the polar regions.

The Global Penguin Society’s clever acronym, GPS, provides a little hint at what they do. On select expeditions, join a GPS conservationist aboard an Antarctica expedition as they engage you with talks about tracking, monitoring, and informing vital conservation efforts for ensuring the future of the world’s penguin populations. Working in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Network – an organization that supports conservationists who ensure wildlife and people coexist and thrive – GPS’s mission is to protect all 18 species and their ecosystems in the Southern Hemisphere by generating sound science, management guidelines and education.
