From kayaking the famous Geirangerfjord to shore landings that challenge you to trek paths few others have before, our Expedition Experiences take you into the transcendent wilds of this remote destination. Below is a taste of what you can do on a voyage to the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.

ZODIAC SAFARI | INCLUDED

Atlas takes you closer to your environment as you embark on one of the 12 custom-made Zodiacs made for World Traveller and World Navigator. Cruising Arctic coasts, your knowledgeable experts guide you through the region’s many wonders. As your Zodiac driver navigates the waters, stop and listen to the natural sounds that surround you. At first, you might think it’s all silence, but if you focus, the cries of Arctic terns echo in the distance. You may encounter marine wildlife while out on the water, so focus on the soft but distinct rush of water and watch for the bubbles just before a breach. This is an essential excursion that truly gives you a pure feeling of triumphant exploration.

HELICOPTER FLIGHTSEEING
OLDEN, NORWAY

It’s up, up and away for an unforgettable flightseeing experience over dramatic landscapes and the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, the largest in continental Europe.

Sit back and admire the stunning scenery surrounding the pretty village of Olden, nestled at the head of the Nordfjord and surrounded by towering mountains, superb waterfalls and several glaciers, as you take a short transfer to the helipad. Make sure you have your camera ready, as your flightseeing offers a truly unique and exhilarating experience. From your aerial vantage point, enjoy spectacular views over the valley, lakes and mountains.

KAYAKING THE GEIRANGERFJORD
GEIRANGER, NORWAY

Experience the tranquil beauty of Geirangerfjord from the water as you skim along its pristine surface by kayak. On this gentle adventure, you’re driven through the charming village of Geiranger to the kayak base. From there, take to the water with your kayak guide, witnessing the magnificent Seven Sisters waterfalls from a distance along the way. Of the seven cascades, the tallest has a freefall of about 820 feet. Pause to take a moment for admiration and photos.

ATV SAFARI
HONNINGSVAG (NORTH CAPE), NORWAY

The drive begins at a leisurely pace through the streets of Honningsvag, a small, tight-knit fishing community with colorful hillside homes overlooking the harbor and Barents Sea on the large island of Magerøy in the extreme northern reaches of Norway. After riding around town, drive onto a gravel road that leads to NATO Mountain. While the tundra-covered landscape is rather barren, it is wonderfully dramatic. Steep cliffs hug the shore and mountains rise in the interior where reindeer roam freely. Archaeologists have found evidence of settlements here dating back more than 10,000 years. The Sami are the indigenous tribe on Magerøy, and you have the opportunity to witness their traditional lifestyle while enjoying coffee brewed over an open fire.
